Festival Season Is Upon Us!
Festivals and outdoor concert series are just the beginning of the fun this week, however.

Hope you had a great Fourth of July! There are nearly as many fun, interesting, and exciting things to explore this week, though, even without a holiday. There are music festivals galore and outdoor concert series aplenty, plus tons of food and family-friendly adventures.

📰 This Week’s Grand Stories
🏓 Beer City Pickleball Open - This event sells out every year as Grand Rapids’ Belknap Park becomes one of the nation’s best pickleball facilities. Even if you don’t have a friend competing - it’s a great event for spectators with tons of action - going on now through July 14.
$120 Million for Michigan’s Gun Lake Tribe - The Interior Secretary announced that this federal funding would be given to help tribal communities to prepare for climate change. This is also the same amount they profit each day from their casinos! 😄
🎶 Listening LAWNch - This week, the Listening Lawn outdoor concerts series kicks off with performances by The Wood Brothers and Victor Wooten. Later performances will feature The Spin Doctors, the Robert Randolph Band, and KT Tunstall, among others.
🐉How To Train Your Dragon LIVE!: Later this month, dragon lovers will be treated to an extra-magical viewing of 2010’s How To Train Your Dragon when the Grand Rapids Symphony brings John Powell’s Academy Award-nominated score to life at DeVos Performance Hall on July 24.
🐶The Perfect Pup: This summer, A Pleasant Dog, a Grand Rapids school for dogs, is offering free dog training throughout the month of August for all dogs who aren’t reactive to other dogs or people.
🥘Traditional Thai Food Is Coming To Grand Rapids!: A Thai couple’s dreams of bringing their family’s recipes to Grand Rapids is nearly reality. Thai Table is very nearly open at 950 Wealthy St. SE.

🎷 West Michigan Jazz Society: Come out to celebrate the 24th Year of the West Michigan Jazz Society on July 16 for a night of hot, cool jazz. There will be food trucks!
🪑 Ada Music on the Lawn 2024: Here’s your chance to hear a different lawn series when the Ada Music on the Lawn series returns on July 17.
🎵 Upheaval Festival 2024: Grand Rapid’s largest rock festival returns to Western Michigan on July 19 and 20.
