🌻Amway Loses $692 Million Dollar Dispute - The multi-level marketing giant Amway lost a major dispute over some organic farm land in Mexico.
🏙️ Monroe Getting An Upgrade - The Monroe North neighborhood is getting a 4 million dollar upgrade to improve infrastructure, add some green areas and more.
📰 Grand Rapids Griffins continue historic point streak at FOX Night at the Rink — The AHL’s Griffins extended their franchise-record start and celebrated “FOX Night at the Rink” at Van Andel Arena, featuring appearances from local FOX 17 personalities and a chance for fans to redeem ticket stubs for future games.
🎶 Winter Wheat Music Festival brings traditional music downtown — The Winter Wheat Music Festival returned to The Intersection with folk, Americana, blues, rock, and Cajun music, offering open jams and performances celebrating community and musical collaboration.
🖼️ World of Winter festival returns downtown with art, ice & events — The annual World of Winter festival kicked off in Grand Rapids for its seventh year with dozens of outdoor art installations, free family-friendly events like silent discos and luminary bike rides, and a massive ice sculpture reveal at Rosa Parks Circle.
🧪 New Grand Rapids Public Museum exhibit inspires kids to explore science — The Grand Rapids Public Museum unveiled Backyard Adventures, a hands-on exhibit designed to encourage children and families to notice and engage with science in their everyday surroundings.
♻️ Free electronics recycling drive offered to East Grand Rapids residents — Grand Rapids residents were offered the opportunity to safely dispose of old electronics at a free recycling event on Jan. 10, helping reduce waste and protect the environment while bringing the community together around sustainability.
🏡 Grand Rapids area joins statewide zero-waste challenge — Local businesses including a Grand Rapids zero-waste shop teamed with others statewide for the Michigan Refill Challenge, encouraging residents to adopt sustainable habits like refilling household items and win prizes for reducing waste together.
